1. Who we are
Shop263 is an online marketplace and shop-building platform for businesses and buyers in Zimbabwe, operated by Fignoc Technologies ("we", "us") from Harare. We are the data controller for personal information processed through the Service. This policy is designed to align with the principles of Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: name, email, phone number, password.
- Sellers: shop name, description, address, logo, products, prices, and payment/payout details you choose to display.
- Buyers: delivery name, phone, email and address, and any notes you add to an order.
- Support & reviews: messages, ratings and reviews you submit.
Information created as you use the Service
- Orders, sales, POS transactions, wallet top-ups and listing activity.
- Basic device and usage data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) and cookies — see our Cookie Policy.
3. How we use your information
- To create and run your account, shop and storefront;
- To process, display and route orders between buyers and sellers;
- To operate the marketplace, listing fees and seller wallet;
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the platform secure;
- To send service messages (e.g. order updates, receipts, security notices);
- To improve and develop the Service.
Sellers receive the buyer details needed to fulfil an order they receive. Sellers are independent controllers of their own customer data and must handle it lawfully.
4. Legal bases
We process personal information where it is necessary to provide the Service you requested (performance of a contract), to comply with the law, for our legitimate interests in running and securing the platform, or with your consent (for example, certain cookies and marketing messages).
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- Between buyer and seller for an order placed;
- With service providers acting on our behalf (e.g. hosting, messaging/email, and payment providers such as EcoCash, OneMoney, banks and Paynow);
- Where required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of users or Shop263.
6. Payments
Order payments are made directly between buyers and sellers using third-party providers. Those providers process your payment data under their own privacy terms. Shop263 does not store full card or mobile-money credentials.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, meet legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Order and transaction records may be retained (including in anonymised form) after an account is closed.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access and update your information from your dashboard;
- Export your data — sellers can request this under Privacy & My Data in the dashboard;
- Delete your account, subject to records we must retain by law;
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, hashed passwords, encrypted storage of sensitive seller credentials, role-based access controls and optional two-factor authentication for staff. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your login details safe.
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside Zimbabwe. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information remains protected to a comparable standard.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
